Wes James is a Research Alliance Specialist in the Office of Research Affairs, Loma Linda University Health, Loma Linda, CA. He is also a volunteer/director for the Loma Linda Broadcasting Network South Asia Channel (LLBN SA). He began his career as a pastor in India. He enjoys planning and coordinating mission projects.
Quint Nicola, DDS, is a retired dentist who was on the faculty at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and also served as the dental representative for the Department of Health Ministries at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He previously served at mission dental clinics in Monument Valley, Utah, and in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He says that often the most effective way to share God’s love is through humble caring service.
Marilynn Smith Carpenter was an administrator, owner for many years in health care, and now owns and operates a construction company with her husband Gary Carpenter for over 20 years. Bible study and prayer ministry is her great joy.
JoAnne Lafever spent 27 years as a teacher, principal and Director of Education in Pakistan, Niger, Taiwan and Guam-Micronesia. She also taught in public and Seventh-day Adventist schools in different states in the US between stints in the mission field. She served as an Adjunct Professor at La Sierra University before retiring, and is currently enjoying babysit her grandchildren.
Sylvia Davis, now retired, was an academic advisor and admissions counselor. After teaching English at La Sierra University, Riverside, CA, she was the director of admissions for Loma Linda University School of Nursing and Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
Kerry Heinrich, JD, is the Chief Executive Officer of Adventist Health based in Roseville, CA. Previously he served as CEO for Loma Linda University Health hospitals, Loma Linda, CA.
Stan Appleton, DDS, is a retired professor from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice and has lectured and led mission trips all over the world. He has been with WMI for over 35 years, and was president of WMI for almost all those years.
John Ruffcorn served for twelve years as financial administrator for Loma Linda University Church. He also served as president of Loma Linda University Medical Center from 1976-1988. Previously he was associate administrator of Glendale Adventist Medical Center and president of Washington Adventist Hospital. He began his career as an accountant for Ford Motors.
Stephen Guptill, PhD, served as an educator in various countries - United States, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Philippines. His last appointment was as president of Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), Philippines.
Cherie Appleton Eickmann, DDS, serves as a part-time dentist, and a full-time mother. Her goal is to promote dental ministry around the world, and get the young adults interested in outreach and Christian service.
